The following written questions have been received:

1)    Mr G Farmer – Old Steine Funfair

Can BHCC officers explain why it was a good idea to put a travelling funfair in a densely populated residential / conservation area in direct competition with Brighton Palace Pier whilst detailing the timeline for the application process as there would appear a lack of systems which other successful events (Pride / Spiegeltent) must meet being in place and declare the additional rent that was paid for the use of Old Steine Gardens and any income BHCC or E3 received from the ticket sales?

2)    Mr D Wright – Madeira Drive

I want to bring the committees attention to a tourist area on the seafront that needs a safety inspection. The Eastern Lower Promenade on Madeira Drive is accessible by a staircase and ramp from the Zip wire. The footpath becomes covered with pebbles coming of the beach making it dangerous for vulnerable visitors especially those that are dropped off by coach on Madeira Drive and who make their way down to the beach and get stuck. No amount of clearing away stops the pebbles. Something more permanent is needed, like a proper boardwalk from the footpath onto the beach. Please go and have a look.
